The objective of the segmentation criteria is the protection of the policyholder and the insured against any form of arbitrary unequal treatment.
The segmentation criteria applied by ASU are following:
• Risk acceptance: is the risk insurable or not?
• Premium setting: what is the extent of the premium, taking into account the coverage to be provided?
To provide an answer to these questions, statistical data as determined by our firm and/or by the insurers represented by ASU is taken into account. These data may be relevant in determining risk acceptance as well as premium setting and/or may influence the assessment of risk aggravation.
These criteria help profile the risk and, in most cases, will lead to logical premium setting. In other cases, they may rigger the refusal of the risk.
